Phormiums

Phormium, also known as New Zealand Flax is one of the most versatile plants in the landscape. They can tolerate wet or dry conditions when they mature. A stunning range of color contrasts gives spectacular effects. They work very well in containers and can tolerate sun to part shade.

Phormium need to be planted where they are protected. In winter precautions should be taken so no winter damage occurs. If planted in pots, the roots need to be protected from cool temperatures and hard frost. It is less important

Care and Maintenance:
Phormium are relatively low maintenance shrubs. In the spring fertilizing is recommended with a standard All Purpose Fertilizer (20-20-20). Remove dead leaves as necessary.
